Privacy Notice

We use information needed to run the game, preserve progress, protect accounts, provide memberships, understand gameplay, and keep the service reliable. We do not sell personal information. Threaded.red does not offer targeted advertising or build cross-site advertising profiles for its own purposes.

We collect more than an email address: guest and account identifiers, saves, progress, choices, preferences, provider and entitlement information, local app data, and limited gameplay and technical diagnostics may also be involved.

This notice applies to Threaded.red's website, installable web app, game, account features, and related support. Threaded.red is the operator responsible for the processing described here.

Threaded.red is an 18+ experience and is not intended for children. See our Content Notice for more information.

Account and authentication information

This can include an internal user identifier, guest status, email address, display name, profile image, authentication-provider identifiers, linked-account status, and session information. If you use an email and password, the authentication service processes the password; Threaded.red does not store or access your plaintext password.

Gameplay and preferences

This can include saves, story and chapter progress, choices, consequences, unlocked media, contact or conversation state, game settings, notification preferences, and other information needed to continue the experience.

Membership and transaction information

If you connect a membership or make a purchase, we may receive a provider identifier, membership or entitlement status, tier, relevant transaction references, and limited profile information. Payment processors handle payment-card details; Threaded.red does not need to store complete card numbers.

Gameplay usage and diagnostics

We may process pseudonymous information about screens and game features used, gameplay milestones, timestamps, approximate session activity, browser or device characteristics, app version, errors, and performance. In configured environments, diagnostics can include recordings of screen interactions used to identify usability problems. Privacy masking is configured to limit visible content in those recordings, but interaction and device context may still be present. We do not use this information for targeted advertising or cross-site profiling.

Information stored on your device

The web app uses cookies, browser storage, and local databases for sessions, preferences, installation behavior, offline support, cached game data, and similar functions. Clearing browser data may remove local settings or access to unprotected guest progress.

• authenticate accounts and protect sessions;
• link memberships and deliver purchased entitlements;
• remember settings and support offline-capable features;
• understand how game features perform and improve them;
• detect, investigate, and fix errors, abuse, and security risks;
• respond to support and privacy requests; and
• meet legal, accounting, and operational obligations.

Depending on the context, we process this information to perform our agreement with you, operate our service and protect it, comply with law, or act with your consent where consent is required.

We share information only as needed with trusted categories of service providers, including:

• authentication services;
• hosting, database, storage, and delivery services;
• payment and membership processors;
• gameplay analytics services;
• technical diagnostics and security services; and
• professional advisers or authorities when legally required.

These providers process information for the relevant service and are subject to their own terms and safeguards. If Threaded.red is involved in a reorganization, financing, sale, or transfer, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including maintaining active accounts and saves, meeting legal or accounting obligations, resolving disputes, and protecting the service. Retention varies by data category and account state.

Guest authentication identities may expire or be removed after a period of inactivity. Related records may remain for operational, recovery, legal, or integrity reasons even when the original guest identity is no longer accessible. We are continuing to improve the tools and policies for managing historical guest data.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including managed authentication, access controls, encrypted connections, and restricted administrative access. No service can guarantee absolute security, availability, or protection against every form of data loss.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of personal information. You may also be able to disconnect linked providers, change device permissions, or clear browser storage.

Some controls are not yet self-service. To make a privacy request, email privacy@threaded.red from the address linked to your account when possible. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before completing a request.

Service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use contractual or other recognized safeguards for those transfers.

We may update this notice as Threaded.red changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when required for material changes.
